Hand Painted Goblets Make a Unique Statement

While a goblet is simply a drinking vessel with stem, base and bowl the variety of goblets available is staggering. There are goblets made from all kinds of different materials including silver, pewter, wood and of course glass. Hand painted goblets are recommended for anyone who wants something no one else is going to have. Each goblet is different because when hand painted details are added no two can be absolutely identical. There are a variety of companies and artists who offer hand painted stemware.

Royal Albert is one company who makes hand painted stemware. Their bone china goblets feature the Old Country Roses hand painted pattern and hold 10 ounces of liquid. The rim is delicately adorned with a strip of gold for a lavish look. There are lots of other artists online who run small stores where they sell their hand painted wares. One is called Goblets by Marj, and is definitely worth a look if you want something one of a kind. You can custom order any image or message to be painted on the glass goblet by the artist herself.

Linda Brannen is another artist who hand paints various artwork onto fine glass. Her hand painted goblet set holds 16 ounces of liquid and are perfect for sangria, dessert, water, punch or other beverages. She also offers balloon glasses that can be used for wine and water. The designs available at press time include a variety of different choices including iris, hibiscus, dragonfly and many others. Of course if you are creative with a paintbrush you can create your own painted goblets.

To create your own hand painted goblets you will of course need clear glass goblets. Then you'll need craft paint especially made for painting on glass. There may be a primer you can apply to the glass so the paint will adhere better. Once your artwork is completely dry on the glass you can finish it with a protective coating meant to lock in the paint so it won't come off when the glasses are washed. As a general rule any kind of hand painted glass is best hand washed gently rather than placed in the dishwasher to preserve the artwork.
